Temitope Sholeye was born in Akoka Lagos. TQuest is his stage name. TQuest is a talented
singer, composer and performer; He studied Business Administration at Yaba College
of Education.
TQuest grew up mimicking and dancing to Kollington Ayinla,
King Sunny Ade and Sir Shina Peters in his Dad’s radio box in the early 80’s.While growing up, he got himself exposed to rhythm Naija
tunes such as Alex O, Felix Liberty, Ofege, Blacky, Daniel Wilson, Plantashun
Boiz, Remedies and many more.
He expanded his writing and singing skills
through the early year hip hop such as Nate Dogg and Wyclef Jean and a wide
picture of sound using vocals and good instrumentation.
Quest’s later years throughout his high school, he began to
write his own rhymes and formed a group of boys named J.M.S (Juicy Mouth Squad)
which later reduced to 4 boys band and it was renamed Ex-N (Meaning Ex-Nefarious).
TQuest left the group in 2003 when he
signed a deal with Vision Gate Music and when the deal was no longer favorable,
TQuest moved on to get things done his own way.
In 2013, after the release of My Love song that featured Zee
and Blow my mind which gained much attention on the social network and radio
stations, a foundation began to build.
In the spirit of unifying the world, same vision brought
TQuest and Jawon together in 2015 on a
great collaboration with the mindset of using music as a unifying tool to
preach peace, unity and love and they lunched “ONE LOVE”.
This is a movement and it’s supposed to be a part of us our
everyday doing regardless of our culture, tribe and colour.
